Hey,

I'm Charley.

Hi! I'm Charley Szydlyk, I am from Indianapolis, IN and I am currently majoring in photojournalism and minoring in sports management at Ohio University. I am a passionate photographer, visual storyteller, and love to work in social media as I currently do with Ohio University Athletics Department. I specialize in capturing images that show emotion, action, and energy – whether through action-packed photos or the funny personalities of athletes in TikToks.

My photography is centered around connection: I believe that great photos should not only grab the audience's attention but also show emotion and tell a meaningful story. Through my work with college athletics, I have learned how to create important content in fast-paced environments, building an important technical skill and an eye for authentic moments.

My ultimate dream is to become a sports photographer for a professional sports organization, capturing historic plays, raw emotions, and behind-the-scenes moments that tell the story of an athlete and team. Every project I take on brings me closer to that goal that I continue to push my storytelling, passion, and creativity for sports.
